We’ve just caught wind that Jack McCoy – the legendary surfing filmmaker behind iconic surf movies like Tubular Swells, Bunyip Dreaming, the Billabong Super Challenge movies, the Occumentary, Blue Horizon and many many many more – will be featuring in Sydney’s Vivid Festival ideas as part of his Talk Story East Coast Tour.
Taking place this June, Jack McCoy’s Talk Story is a two hour audio-visual evening of full on stoke, taking audiences behind the scenes of 25 classic surf movies, joined on stage by a line-up of special guests.
The program for the run of shows for Vivid Festival features two separate Talk Story shows back to back on Friday June 14. The first will feature free surf star Craig Anderson and leading modern surf filmmaker Kai Neville (Modern Collective, Dear Suburbia). The second show Jack will be joined on stage with legends David Rastovich and Wayne Lynch.
The Talk Story tour will then travel to Noosa, Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour Newcastle and the Central Coast. Those dates will also feature either Wayne Lynch, Rasta or World Champions Mark Occhilupo and Joel Parkinson.
Jack is the definition of a living legend in surfing culture and history, and these one-off nights will surely be a special experience we can’t recommend enough.
