Back when 1973 wasn’t all that long ago Billabong was famous for creating board shorts that demolished the points and beachies of southern Queensland and the NSW North Coast thanks in no small part to the maniacs that wore em. They were the glory days of surfing into summer, punk piss-ups at the Patch, roadies down to Lennox and Angas and never going to work cause Bobby Hawke’s surf team was paying plenty thanks very much. And today those freewheeling days continue thanks to Bong’s new Home Grown roll out. Conjuring the mastery of Joe Engel at the Cove, Munga at Kirra, Butto at D-Bah and Branno at Illuka Breakwall, it’s the sickest crew in the sickest waves on the sickest stretch of surf coast out there. Rip into it!
