Kelly Slater first surfed the Bells Easter Contest in 1992 as a 20-year-old. He lost to Tom Curren and Todd Holland in the first round, but would go on to win the world title. Last week, at 52, he surfed his final Bells Easter event. The crew at Surfline reunited Kelly with Tom Carroll (who drove him down that year) to talk about the drive to Bells that year, imminent retirement and fatherhood… and life. The full interview will feature in SW423, which is just a few weeks away.
