“One of my favourite things to do, whether by coincidence or not is to turn the volume down on whatever is on the tele and listen to music watching the visuals as a narrative to the story in the song. In this case at the time when Vaughan sent me the song I was watching a Clint Eastwood classic western in my hotel room with an old fashioned in hand. If you’ve seen the flick, this song was one of those moments where you think to yourself how dandy it is to be listening to a dark little tune at this time. Whiskey drinking. Knife fights, and hellish revenge. The song stood up just fine. Eastwood would approve. Tom Waits would be jealous and hell I may even be too. Cracker tune. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the tapes on this record.” – Angus Stone, Dope Lemon
